How did you install the 1/4” plywood to cover the tracks? Nail it into the casing?
Yup. I nailed it and then caulked around it.
Great video
Thanks and thanks for the comment.
Very good, much info but skip the wig-parts
Thanks.
They call it luxury because its more realistic, it is thicker than old vinyl, and it has a backing on it.
Awesome! Thanks for the explanation!
Use a leaf blower works great
I can't tell if you're joking or not.
@@HowIDoThingsDIY not a joke . I use a leaf blower low settings . Blows off all the dust then I just sweep it . Works good
Alright! I have not tried that.
Hi, hoping someone has the knowledge to help me out, I don't want to call an electrician yet and waste his time or try up sale me on extra stuff I "need" I have a house that is pretty old and had rooms that were never occupied till recently, I offered to some of my family to saty with me so most of their money doesn't go to some guys pocket for rent It was first 4 ppl living in my house. My wife, our 2 kids, and I Now, 7 ppl, the extra 3 ppl are my niece, nefew, and my dad, he is now at the age where he needs help using the bathroom So now all 7 rooms are occupied, and I haven't really interacted with the panel for a long time, until recently. It's getting hotter because of the summer and we dont have a central AC unit, but a water heating system for the winter (those old radiators) When getting the window ACs I've been using for the last 3 years out of my storage shed and setting them up, plus 1 new one (so 4 in total) Now we have more ppl, which means more stuff is plugged in A breaker would start to trip when an AC would kick on, and it would be 3 of my rooms out (in those 3 rooms 2 have window AC), so we tried a different plug for one of them, and it didn't trip any more, but when the 4th one kicks on, all the lights to EVERY room would dim and flicker, badly, when it was just my family it would just get dim, but now it flickers here and there when an AC kicks on Cool and our wifi would mess up on that The wifi is super important because of work, and it would turn off then back on when the lights flicker, and one of the TVs would too. But no breakers would trip So I am wondering if there is a solution to this problem and what an electrician would do to fix this before trying to hear him say I "need this too," and up sale me
I consulted with my electrician and he said you need an electrician. He suggested a separate wire from the panel for each AC unit. You're pulling way too much power in an old house. That's really the only correct and safe solution.
@@HowIDoThingsDIY Thank you for your help
How uneducated must one be to rub pipe cement on their skin?
I guess they didn't cover that in engineering school. Haha. Although I am educated, sometimes I make bad choices in the heat of the moment when I'm trying to get something done. I washed my hands immediately afterwards! Thanks for the comment and for pointing this out for the other viewers. Much appreciated!
Just looked up the oil you used its $65 for 9 ounces might want to retitle the video $3-$100 bird feeder
Ha. Sorry. You don't need to use that oil or any oil for that matter. That was just an extra step I took. I'm sure there are cheaper options that would also be safe for the birds. You may be able to get the oil locally and save money.
Much less complicated than a video I watched on the same topic...."thank you"
You're welcome!
😳😳😳gonna lose a finger that way 😳😳😳never let that left hand go past the front of the saw
Ok. Thanks.

Thats so cool! Cant wait for the video!!
I'm pumped too!
A lot of people need to watch this video!
Absolutely. Pretty much everyone has old caulking that needs replacing. Thanks for the. Comment!
This is awesome!! I'm really looking forward to seeing the video. Can you please give me the link for the outfeed table video that you have? I was trying to find it but I couldn't. Thanks so much.

Jesus how many steps were there
I don't know. A few. I have chapters. But honestly, this was one of my easier builds. Thanks for the comment.
How thick is the wood you are using?
Well, I planed it just to clean it up. But I think it's somewhere between 3/4"-1". Thanks for the comment!
How do I get the plans

I love to sit and enjoy watching the birds.
@@brendamcknight779 Oh ya! So relaxing. I like watching little turf war fights break out over bird seed. Haha
Remove all jewellery especially 💍
Wow excellent job, I wish you could come install mines, it's so frustrating when you have work done and it's not done right
Ugh. I hate that too. That is usually why I do it myself. Thanks for the comment!
@HowIDoThingsDIY interesting concept! I'm sure you saved money by doing it yourself. Can you please tell me...did it make the room quieter?
I didn't notice a noticable difference in sound. I didn't it purely for cosmetics. Thanks for the comment!
Great video series! When installing that Sheetrock as a fireblock, assuming it’s better to set it back a bit from your top horizontal stud to avoid going through and cutting off any excess, correct? I was going to use plywood but may use Sheetrock given it’s easier to corrrecr
I don't completely understand you're question. I like to use plywood but either is acceptable.
@@HowIDoThingsDIY I meant when installing the horizontal fire blocking, it essentially has to line up perfectly with your top plate line otherwise it would extend past the top plate and interfere with the ceiling sheet rock inside the room. Figured the Sheetrock would be easier to shave away if that happened.
@@infiniti2015 Ah! Got it. Yes. Or fall a little short.
@@HowIDoThingsDIY Cool. Thank you!
@infiniti2015 You're welcome!
It's cool but what exactly did HE make? ITS JUST A COMPUTER PROGRAM
He designed the part in CAD, made the program and loaded the wood. Not exactly traditional woodworking but it's still pretty cool. Thanks for the comment!
@@HowIDoThingsDIY I get it. I think it's cool for a Walmart shelf sort of deal.
@@heffdogg420 Well, while these boards are super high quality and made of very high quality wood, they are also mass produced. Could you imagine how long it would take to drill all those holes by hand!!! Just crazy.
@HowIDoThingsDIY I do know how long it takes. Lol. I literally make cribbage boards without the computer. But I just realized as I type this that I don't make them by hand either. I use the tools I purchased just like your friend. I reckon I just don't like seeing the exact same thing over and over. Have a good day man.
@@heffdogg420 Ah! I can understand how you feel then seeing as how you've been though the process. You have a good day as well.
Make sure to unplug your fridge when opening the back panel
Absolutely. Thanks for adding that.
Everyone's ready for some serious "caulking" after this video. Fun stuff and good explanation.
Haha. Ya. I try to have fun with it. Thanks.
Really a good tutorial on caulking. I've come behind some people who definitely should watch this video (or anything to keep them from making such a mess). - Chris
I appreciate that. I was trying to make it as complete as possible without making it too long.
why did you need the 2 sides and front edge vertical piece ? Nice demo btw.
It just adds overall stiffness to the frame of the jig. Which improves the tolerance of the cuts.
❤❤❤ super 👍
Thanks!
I had little hope that this would be the source of the smell, but it was. Condenser coils full of dust and lint, or whatever else all that was, can cause a funky smell.
That's fantastic!
Wow! That looks amazing! Works amazing too!🙌🏼
Thanks!
@HowIDoThingsDIY of course bro 😎 🙌🏼
I think ALL the wood I’ve ever bought from The Despot has ALL these problems.
It sure wasn't hard to find examples of terrible wood, unfortunately.
Well done. Why do some RUclipsrs make building a table saw sled more complicated than building a nuclear submarine? And that 5 cut method, I’m sure the wood would move more than the correction some make. Great video.
Thanks! I think everyone is looking for a gimmick to stand out. My gimmick was simplicity.
Which brand/type product did you use to fill nail holes?
Sorry, I should have mentioned that. I like to use window glazing putty. amzn.to/3yJgAya

@@HowIDoThingsDIY , The best instructional videos place emphasis on quality of the video, and of the information. Music, or other distractions are just that. I love that we can go to find instruction on any subject we might have an interest in. Woodworking is a good platform. Make the channel yours, but no need for gimmicks. Talent is what sells here. Both in the content, and personality. Best wishes, my friend.
@davidgraham2673 I honestly do that stuff more for me. Sometimes I get burned out and just need to have some fun.
@@HowIDoThingsDIY , I hear you. If you're looking for something different, gave a portion of time where you can teach a specific skill. Take your time, explain carefully, and give pointers, and pitfalls to avoid. I've trained many guys in my trade, and until they master basic skill sets, they'll never improve. The prices have dropped a lot here in florida for wood birdhouses making them no longer a money maker..nice ones for $10..
